Hello, I'm Jadyn!

I started Change In Motion because I am passionate about addressing an under-met need in my community: home safety and accessibility evaluations. These professional evaluations bring life-changing benefits, and I am honored to play a role in this process.

Home should always feel like home. Most homes are not designed for universal accessibility, creating barriers and safety risks for residents and their loved ones. The purpose of Change In Motion is in the name: change. Changing our expectations of aging. Changing fall injury and hospital re-admission rates. Changing housing inaccessibility. Changing housing features that bring danger and discomfort to our friends and family. Changing the way our homes support us in our daily living. Life is always changing. When it's time for your home to change with you, Change In Motion is here to help.

Home accessibility and visitability are very meaningful to me. I have seen friends and family unable to attend events or access parts of their own home due to accessibility barriers. Facing unnecessary barriers in homes is an unfortunately common experience, which is something that I am passionate about changing.

Home safety evaluations prevent falls, the number one cause of injury and death in seniors. Preventing falls also means preventing expensive hospital bills, medical complications, and loss of independence.

Fall prevention and accessibility are not the only benefits of home evaluations. I also help clients decrease daily fatigue and joint pain by making small adjustments to daily tasks.

The home safety and accessibility evaluation is a powerful but underutilized tool for homeowners of all ages and abilities. Change In Motion is partnering with HMOTA, NAHB,  POTA, and AOTA to change that.

My Credentials:

I am a licensed occupational therapist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. I am a certified aging in place specialist, and I have completed further training in fall prevention and home accessibility evaluations. In addition to formal home evaluation training, I bring years of experience in performance evaluation, ergonomics training, and orthopedic injury prevention as an occupational therapist in outpatient settings.

My Background:

I grew up in Montana, and relocated to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. After earning my bachelor's degree, I packed my bags again and moved to Pennsylvania to attend Salus University in Elkins Park, PA, where I completed a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2018. I moved to the Lehigh Valley shortly after graduating, and I have been here ever since! I love Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with the beautiful farmlands, mountains, beaches, small towns, and large cities all within reach. When I’m not working I enjoy travel, science museums, knitting, kayaking, painting, and spoiling my cat Willow.
